Day 4!

Whew! I cannot believe it has already been four days! Ok, let me fill you in on what I've been up to. I have gotten better acquainted to the archive itself, learning more about it and the town of Kingsport. So far I've been doing a lot of the same thing, I've been reprocessing or more like first time processing a collection of negatives and proofs from a local photographer. She worked for a long time and from what I've seen so far did mostly portraits. It has been so interesting looking at the old fashions and people. Basically what I've done so far is sort through the collection discard the proofs that have deteriorated to the point of no return. After doing that the negatives and proofs were sleeved and numbered according to the print number originally given. Some weren't numbered but had names so I sorted them differently, I alphabetized the names and then sorted the others in numerical order. It took me until now to finish the 8 X 10s. There are 5 X 8s and other assorted sizes that I will probably be doing the same for. In addition to that I got to take a break to help my supervisor hang new pieces to change up the decor, and we looked through some oversized prints and talked about a possible exhibit. Below are just a couple pictures I took ;D
