This site is also a source of articles and this particular one discusses herbal remedies. It discusses herbs use for health purposes and then gives tables on common medicinal herbs, introductory references, and a patient information sheet of medicinal herbs. This is more structured like an article but has outside sources. It is meant to inform normal individual’s uses of these herbs to normalize herbs as a medicine. It discusses each herb as a source for medicine and talks a little about the history of each one. Although a good resource this is a little more scientific than most so it can be a bit harder to understand. The information is also a little dated but still very useful.

This website is created for beginners to have kind of a basic overview of how to use herbs medicinally. It has good resources available for purchase such as a how to starter kit to begin and ways to teach kids such as a board game and activities. It also has many remedies and recipes listed in addition to a few videos. This source is easy to understand and is focused more toward families and teaching younger generations about herbalism in an effort to make herbs a normal part of the medical routine. This is a very good site for complete novices.

This site is an interactive herbal database and provides access through hyperlinks to scientific data for the use of medicinal herbs. It has twenty herbs listed that are typically the most popular herbs. Each entry is very thorough and is meant to inform as much as possible about each herb so that no potentially harmful mistakes are made. The information is created by the Alternative Medicine Foundation and is scientific, impartial, and evidence-based. There is a free version and a paid version, the paid version has 249 herbs listed. Obviously allowing access to twenty herbs is meant to entice people to subscribe in order to gain access to the full list in the database. These entries are easy to understand and are a good guide to more information.

This site lists brief fact sheets these sheets provide basic information about specific herbs that includes common names, scientific information, possible side effects/cautions, and resources to get more information on each herb. These fact sheets are also available for download as an eBook or as a PDF. This site is an excellent quick source guide. Since the pages are so brief they make very nice fast reference guides. Through the PDF download they are printable so they can create a handy personal guide for on the go reference about the basic information and identification of herbs.

This website is essentially a list of resources. There are sources to help in identification, manuals, handbooks, checklists, and other texts. This site was compiled by an herbalists in order to help others find good reputable resources on herbs. This source is meant to inform normal individual’s uses of these herbs in effort to normalize herbs as a medicine. By educating others more about herbs it makes potentially hazardous situations where they can be misused and possible injure the people using them less likely. The creator of this site meant to share his love of herbs and wanted others to know all the different things one can do with them. All of the sources listed are good resources to learn more about different ways herbs can be utilized for health purposes.

This site was created by and is run by the American Herbalist Guild. It has information on this guild in addition to several different educational resources. It has access to the Journal of the American Herbalist Guild, mentorship program, free webinars, in addition to a herbal medicine FAQ. These free resources are given out in an effort to educate and inform the general populace of the effects and uses of herbs as medicine. They are also freely accessible in hopes that more people will join and participate in the guide, thereby making herbalism and the use of herbs this way more known and widespread. By teaching others more about herbs it helps avoid potentially hazardous situations where they can be misused and possible injure the users.

This website is exactly what it sounds like it is an encyclopedia of herbs. It has each herb is listed by name in alphabetical order. In addition to the common name it also lists scientific names, family, genus, and common names, name origin, as well as some history of what it has been used to treat. As well as to all of the information on all of the names listed, it also has articles on the individual herbs. This source is meant to inform normal individual’s uses of these herbs in effort to normalize herbs as a medicine. The thoroughness of each entry is meant to inform as much as possible for each herb that way no potentially harmful mistakes are made.

This website has several free podcasts designed to help educate others on herb basics. The podcasts are each created my professionals in their field on topics they are very familiar with. Each of these podcasts are in relation to the free herbalism project and are a reflection of this group. They are meant to give basics on each and every topic discussed by these professionals. These podcasts are meant to get regular people interested in herbs as a real source for medicine and healing. These videos are a gateway into further learning in hopes that people will join with the free herbalism project in an effort to further common knowledge and attempt to make herbalism a normal thing in society.
