Tiffany Riggins

This course provides an opportunity for supervised practice in special collections and archival operations.

 

The main assignment for this course was to keep an online journal documenting the things I did during my practicum. This experience was invaluable. Not only did I get hands-on experience creating displays and looking at collections but I also was able to observe the decision making and policies within an archive. This experience taught me so much about what policies exist and why as well as how to build good displays and preserve artifacts. These skills can be used with not only archives and museums but in libraries as well.
