Tiffany Riggins
LIS 651 Fundamentals of Information Science
This course examines the evolution of information science, communication and information theory, information organization and retrieval, and bibliometrics.
The main assignment in this course was a bibliometric research paper. I chose to focus on getting and keeping teens in the library. This assignment allowed me to look at the published literature on this topic. It also gave me experience performing bibliometric research so that in the future it will be easier to perform. Instructions were as follows:
"Examine document characteristics of a set of scholarly, peer-reviewed articles on a specific topic."
