Tiffany Riggins

This course is an introduction to history and development of graphic novels, manga, comic books, and anime, and their role in libraries and information settings.

 

One main assignment in this course was to write a review column in the format of VOYA on three graphic novels. I chose three manga with female main characters. This assignment gives experience writing reviews so that students better understand how to do so. It also expands our horizons into different types of literature. Being able to conduct reviews also would help the ability to discern which books are appropriate for different age groups.
